Loan Agent

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Full knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, and VA guidelines
Full knowledge of non-conforming investor, portfolio and broker guidelines.
Complete familiarity with M.I. guidelines.
Must be responsible for a minimum amount of monthly production (TBD by Branch Manager).
Responsible for determining a marketing approach that will consistently generate a quality loan volume to reach minimum monthly production.
Responsible for taking a complete 1003, collecting sufficient alternative documentation to establish borrower(s) ability to secure a loan and to collect sufficient funds to pay for the credit report and appraisal (where needed).
Expected to assist the processing staff, as needed, with the approval process, i.e. calling borrower(s), realtors, etc.
Required to provide borrower with Good Faith Estimate at time of application and to provide all necessary disclosures for borrower and lender.
Maintain Company policies and underwriting guidelines.
Will be responsible for insuring that job performance meets the standards of the position and to assist in the achievement of branch loan goals.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
