Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care assistance to residents, including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Ensure that residents' rights are respected and maintained at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment for residents by performing housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
- Assist with medication reminders and administration under the supervision of a nurse or healthcare professional.
- Monitor and record vital signs of residents as directed.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of resident information.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, promoting a positive and nurturing environment.
- Assist with lifting and transferring residents using proper body mechanics and equipment as needed.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a nursing home or similar healthcare setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid techniques and ability to respond to emergencies calmly and effectively.
- Familiarity with resident rights and ability to advocate for the well-being of residents.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks as required in the role.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff members.
- Knowledge of social work principles and ability to provide emotional support to residents.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
