North County Christian School, in Atascadero, California is seeking a dynamic, student-centered individual to teach math at the middle school level.
This teacher needs to be a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and someone who students would consider to be an outstanding Christian role model.
Accordingly, this teacher will hold his/her students to the higher purposes that Scripture holds as the standard for all followers of Jesus Christ.
The qualified candidate will subscribe to the mission and educational philosophy of North County Christian School.
Duties involve teaching at least 4 of seven class periods per day, with as many as 2 different preps.
Ability to coach and/or sponsor student activities is preferred.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, with an emphasis in science.
Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and ascribe to the mission and educational philosophy of North County Christian School.
Be a member in good standing of an evangelical church.
Teach a minimum of 4 out of 7 periods per day, with up to 2 preps.
Additional supervision of students before and after school may be required.
Willingness and the ability to coach/sponsor student activities are preferable.

Responsibilities:
Bases all teaching, activities, and programs upon the principles taught through the inspired word of God as contained in the Bible.
Connects Biblical principles to subject-matter concepts.

student outcomes into specific objectives for lessons suitable to the age level and developmental needs of the students.
Corrects and returns assignments in a timely manner.
Teaches to specific objectives and makes learning objectives clear to students.
Uses the effective lesson model including an appropriate introduction, direct instruction, guided practice, and independent practice.
Provides students with appropriate feedback.
Arrives at least a half-hour before class to set up and make arrangements in advance for materials and equipment.
Administers group-standardized tests to students in accordance with the school's testing program.
Motivates students and establishes a climate of love and care that defines responsible Christian behavior for students following the school's guidelines, standards, and policies.
Keeps current in methods of teaching and the subject area of assignments.
Works constructively with colleagues and administration.
Performs student supervision before, during, or after school duty as assigned by the administration.
Communicates regularly with the parents about their child's progress and needs.
Other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
